Reefkeeping has become a huge passion of mine, and I consider myself incredibly lucky to have turned that passion into a small business. Marine Spec was born from a desire to enhance the reefing experience, not just for myself, but for the wider community of hobbyists who share this love for marine life.

 

From the beginning, my goal has been to create high-quality, thoughtfully designed products that help reefers elevate their tanks. Seeing the positive impact of these products in my own systems inspired me to share them with others. I use high-end Prusa 3D printers and premium materials to ensure that every accessory is built to last. In addition to 3D-printed products, I specialize in custom acrylic work, including unique frag racks and tailored solutions for individual reefers. While many of these aren’t listed on my website, I’m always happy to discuss custom projects.

 

But Marine Spec is about more than just products—it’s about community. The friendships and connections I’ve made through this hobby mean the world to me. Whether it’s learning from fellow reefers, sharing ideas, or simply appreciating the beauty of our tanks together, the sense of camaraderie in this hobby is something truly special.

 

Sustainability is also at the heart of Marine Spec. I strive to minimize environmental impact by using eco-friendly packaging, recycled acrylic, and recyclable 3D-printed filament. Additionally, 10% of the profits from all website orders are donated to marine conservation and mental health charities, ensuring that our love for reefkeeping also supports a greater cause.

 

Beyond Marine Spec, I’ve also started a YouTube channel, The Spiritual Reefer, where I share my journey in reefkeeping with a focus on mindfulness, patience, and the deeper connection between nature and our tanks. It’s a space to explore the beauty and challenges of reefing while fostering a calm and welcoming environment for those who want to learn, unwind, and engage with the community.
